Precautions for the Use of Ice Maker

Sep 18,2021
The ice maker is a kind of refrigeration mechanical equipment that produces ice after the water passes through the evaporator and is cooled by the refrigeration system refrigerant, which adopts refrigeration system and uses water as carrier to produce ice after passing through a certain equipment in the energized state. The ice maker is one of the necessary refrigeration equipment in catering establishments. If we don't pay attention to the correct use, various problems will occur. So, what should be paid attention to when using the ice maker?

Precautions for the use of ice maker:
1. The ice maker should be installed in a well-ventilated place far away from heat sources and without direct sunlight. At the same time, the ambient temperature should not exceed 35 degrees Celsius to prevent excessively high ambient temperature from causing poor condenser heat dissipation and affecting the ice making effect. Meanwhile, the ground on which the ice maker is installed should be firm and flat, and the ice maker must be level, otherwise it will cause no ice removal and noise during operation.
2. The gap between the back and the left and right sides of the ice maker is not less than 30cm, and the top gap is not less than 60cm. Independent power supply should be used, and dedicated line power supply, fuse and leakage protection switch as well as reliable grounding are required.
3. The water used by the ice maker must comply with the national drinking water standards, and a water filter device should be installed to filter impurities in the water to avoid clogging the water pipe and polluting the water tank and ice mold, which will affect the ice making performance.
4. When transporting the ice machine, handle it with care to prevent violent vibration, and the transport slope should not be less than 45 degrees. After long-distance transportation, the ice machine should be placed for 2-6 hours before starting to make ice.
5. Turn off the power when cleaning the ice making machine. It is strictly forbidden to flush the machine directly with the water pipe, instead, use neutral detergent to scrub, and do not clean it with acidic, alkaline and other corrosive solvents.
6. Unscrew the water inlet hose head of the ice maker every two months to clean the water inlet valve filter to avoid sand and mud impurities in the water from blocking the water inlet, causing small water inlet amount and no ice production.
7. Clean the dust on the surface of the condenser every two months because poor condensation and heat dissipation will cause damage to the compressor components. When cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner, a small brush, etc. to clean the oil and dust on the condenser surface. Do not use sharp metal tools to clean, so as not to damage the condenser.
8. The water pipe, sink, rice-storage box and protective film of the ice maker should be cleaned every two months. When do not use it, clean it, dry the ice mold and the moisture in the box with a hair dryer, and place it in a well-ventilated and dry place without corrosive gas. Do not place it in the open air.

Ice makers can be divided into commercial ice makers, household ice makers, and industrial ice makers according to their uses. According to the shape of ice, it is generally divided into pellet ice makers, flake ice makers, plate ice makers, tube ice makers, shell ice makers, etc., and it can be divided into water-cooled ice maker and air-cooled ice maker based on the refrigeration method.
